Antique French Louis Philippe Foxed Glass Mirror A charming black Louis Philippe mirror with beautifully foxed mercury plate glass and decorative gold cross design to the frame. A practical size with good proportions, and heavy. The frame is made of wood and gesso. The rear of the mirror retains its original wooden backboards. Dimensions: Height: 78.5cm Width: 55cm Depth: 3cm Origin: France Circa: 1880s Workshop Report: Overall vintage condition, structurally sound, the mirror has been left in its original condition with some wear in places to the frame – decorative beading worn down in small section of the top frame – see photos. The mirror has been cleaned and waxed for future protection. As with all our products, this product is an original vintage item so there are signs of wear from use.
