Our friends at Aloka (based in Atlanta and Athens) reenergize beautiful vintage quilts made of layers of saris that were hand-stitched in India 60-80 years ago. We're really into the amazing colors, imperfect charm, and texture, not to mention the very Bitter Southerner mashup of old-school Indian textiles and Southern quilt making. Few notes about the quilts: Aloka blankets are one-of-a-kind vintage kantha quilts, made of layers of saris - mostly cotton and silk- that were hand-stitched in India 60-80 years ago. Aloka’s curation, creativity and finish treatments, like bathing them in botanical dyes, reinvigorate these high quality textiles with our signature softness and style.
