Austrian Audio DMK1 — a complete 8-microphone drum kit package, the only kit on the market built around three different large-diaphragm condenser microphones. The DMK1 covers a full drum kit without needing to source separate mics for each piece: 1x OC-B6 for kick, 2x OC18 for overheads, 1x CC8 for hi-hat, 3x OC7 for toms, and 1x OD5 for snare. Instead of the typical configuration built almost entirely around dynamic mics, this kit leans on seven condensers and one active dynamic, giving a more open, transparent sound across the kit while retaining high-SPL handling. Everything fits in a compact, waterproof touring case together with four DPH12 drum holders, seven OCH8 clips, and a full set of windscreens. A condenser kick mic instead of the standard dynamic Standard drum mic kits almost always mic the kick with a classic dynamic, which handles the beater attack well but smooths over the subtleties of head resonance. The OC-B6, the first large-diaphragm condenser mic on the market purpose-built for kick, tolerates up to 170 dB SPL and has a fixed 25 Hz subsonic filter, giving a clean, undistorted low end whether the mic sits inside the shell, outside, or at the port. The result is a more natural, less "hyped" kick sound needing less correction at mix time.
