The real Porsche 917 was developed in Germany and became the machine that delivered Porsche its first overall victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1970, followed by another in 1971. The short-tail 917KH became particularly legendary for its combination of enormous performance and high-speed stability, securing its place in the history of endurance racing and turning the 917 name into motorsport royalty.
