"Follow me Home" | Salmon Necklace Hand Fabricated in Copper, Silver, Carnelian and Brass

This necklace features five species of salmon and was inspired by my upbringing in the Pacific Northwest, where the salmon lifecycle is an integral part of life. Each salmon is hand sawed from copper sheet and colored with a flame patina. They are backed with sterling silver that has been roller printed with a water texture. Carnelian beads decorate the back of the chain, suggestive of salmon roe. I named this piece "Follow me Home" because of the fascinating spawning habits of salmon returning to the stream beds where they were born to reproduce and ultimately end their life cycle.
