Archive David Weeks 'Globe' Table Lamp 1997
Archive 'Globe' table lamp by David Weeks for The Globe Restaurant a design forward cafeteria on Park Ave circa 1997. Renowned Brooklyn-based lighting designer Weeks was commissioned early in his career to design custom, sculptural light fixtures for the space, using a process of "formal reduction" to slice away at orb and cone shapes to illuminate the sprawling 5,500-square-foot venue. These lamps were apparently used as special occasion lamps. Featuring sculptural polished aluminum base with white acrylic tiered honeycomb shade with aluminum pin detail. In excellent working condition showing minimal age appropriate wear having been in storage for decades, on/off switch on cord, lightbulb included. Extremely scarce as only 8 were made. It's pretty fab. 21" tall. 7.75" diameter. Shipping quoted @ checkout / Greenpoint pick up
