3-Hour workshop – cost £59.00 Join Gemma for a delightful and relaxing needle felting workshop where you’ll create your own charming Mouse in a Teacup. This whimsical project is full of character and is the perfect introduction to the art of needle felting while also offering plenty of techniques to inspire those with more experience. Whether you’re picking up a felting needle for the first time or looking to expand your skills, you’ll enjoy learning in a friendly, supportive and relaxed environment. Throughout the class, Gemma will guide you step by step, sharing the techniques that she uses to create a beautifully detailed mouse nestled in a vintage-style teacup. With plenty of individual guidance, you’ll leave with a finished piece to treasure and the confidence to continue your needle felting journey at home. In this workshop you will learn: • The fundamental techniques of needle felting. • How to safely use a variety of felting needles and understand their different purposes. • How to build a strong wired armature for the body and legs. • How to sculpt and shape realistic features using wool. • How to create and attach delicate details such as ears, paws, tail and facial features. • How to make a sheet of flat felt for decorative elements and accessories. • Tips for adding personality and expression to your finished mouse. • How to assemble your completed mouse into its charming teacup display. Meet the Tutor Gemma Powell Gemma is a Northamptonshire-based wildlife and pet portrait artist she loves creating expressive 3D sculptures and 2D portraits inspired by her passion for animals and nature.
