Revac B+ (Absorbed Hepatitis B (rDNA))

Revac B+ is a recombinant hepatitis B vaccine formulated for active immunization against hepatitis B infection in adults and children over 10 years old. Each 1 mL dose contains 20 mcg of purified hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) with >98% purity, aluminum hydroxide gel as an adjuvant, and thiomersal as a preservative. The vaccine provides primary immunization against all known hepatitis B virus subtypes and stimulates active immunity in individuals at increased risk of exposure to HBV or HBsAg-positive materials such as blood, plasma, and serum. By preventing hepatitis B infection, the vaccine also helps prevent hepatitis D, which occurs only in the presence of hepatitis B. Revac B+ does not protect against hepatitis caused by other agents, including hepatitis A, C, and E viruses, or other liver pathogens.
