Chameleon Antenna’s proprietary 26 AWG field wire uses tinned-copper conductors braided around a Kevlar reinforcement core beneath a PTFE outer jacket. It is manufactured specifically for Chameleon Antenna rather than sourced as ordinary retail hook-up wire. The Kevlar core carries mechanical tension and helps reduce conductor stretch and fatigue. The PTFE jacket provides resistance to abrasion, heat, moisture, and demanding field handling, while the supple, low-memory construction helps the radiator deploy cleanly and resist kinking. At only 65 ft, the complete assembly remains compact enough for a POTA, SOTA, EMCOMM, travel, or emergency field kit. The high-visibility orange finish also makes the wire easier to manage and recover when an activation ends.
