Originating in Japan, tataki-zome, or flower hammering is an ancient technique using fresh flowers hammered onto natural fibers to transfer their color and patterning. During this 2.5-hour workshop, participants will learn the basics of natural dyeing, fiber preparation, easy to grow dye plants, and the flower hammering process. You will come away from this workshop with: An understanding of the basics of natural dyeing An overview of natural dye plants Knowledge of the flower hammering process A summary of information covered in class A one-of-a-kind tote bag made by you!
