Sunset Moon Favia, Dipsastraea sp. formerly commonly sold in the aquarium trade as Favia sp., is a colorful encrusting stony coral known for its rounded corallites, textured surface, and contrasting mouth centers. This WYSIWYG frag features muted red to burgundy-brown tissue with pale green to yellow-green mouth accents and subtle lighter highlights, giving it a natural sunset-toned appearance under reef lighting. Dipsastraea corals are popular with reef hobbyists because they offer hardy growth, interesting texture, and attractive color contrast in established reef aquariums. Care Guide: Dipsastraea sp. generally does best in moderate lighting and low to moderate indirect water flow. Avoid strong direct current, which can irritate the tissue or prevent natural polyp extension.
