C. A. Hoyer German violin bow

Cark Adolf Hoyer was a member of a very large family of violin and bow makers, many of them, like Carl Adolf, based in the Vogtland town of Markneukirchen. Carl Adolf established his own business there in 1865, where he and his family developed it into a major bow-making workshop that flourished until the mid-20th century. This elegant, silver-mounted example has a well-carved, almost swan-like head.
