Victorian "Poseidon & Amphitrite" Intaglio Ring

An impressive Victorian ring home to an earlier, sea-green "Tassie" seal depicting the rulers of the sea: Amphitrite and Poseidon (aka Salacia and Neptune). A particularly rare subject, the salty pair are depicted in profile, windswept, with Poseidon's infamous trident alongside, and the detail is spectacular. The ring itself is crafted in 9 carat gold with simple split shoulders and a flat band.
