Tecnoseal GUA101UK, GUA102UK and GUA105UK neoprene disc-anode backing pads are model-specific mounting pads for the corresponding 00101UK, 00102UK and 00105UK heavy-duty UK-pattern disc-anode families. Each pad fits between the matching disc anode and mounting surface, helping protect the surface and provide a shaped bedding layer beneath the anode. The pad is not a sacrificial anode and does not replace the electrical connection required by the vessel's cathodic-protection system. What Are These Backing Pads Used For? The pad is positioned between the matching Tecnoseal heavy-duty disc anode and the rudder, trim tab or other mounting surface. It helps separate the anode casting from the surface coating and provides a consistent interface beneath the anode. The sacrificial anode must still have the electrical continuity required by the original installation.
