Dianella 'Little Jess' Dianella caerulea 'Little Jess' is a compact, clumping Australian native prized for its neat blue-green foliage, low-maintenance nature and exceptional versatility. Growing much smaller than standard Dianella varieties, 'Little Jess' forms a dense, tidy mound that is perfect for borders, mass plantings, pathways, courtyards and pots. During spring and summer, delicate blue-purple flowers appear above the foliage, followed by attractive metallic blue berries that add seasonal interest and attract birds. Highly tolerant of drought, frost and coastal conditions once established, 'Little Jess' is an excellent choice for Australian gardens requiring a tough yet attractive landscaping plant. Position Thrives in full sun to part shade. Performs best in well-drained soil but adapts to a wide range of soil types, including clay and sandy soils.. Growth This moderate-growing, clumping plant reaches a mature height of 40-50 cm with a spread of about 40–60 cm. Forming a dense, compact clump. Remove old or damaged leaves as required to keep the plant looking fresh. Every few years, established clumps can be lightly divided or rejuvenated by trimming back older foliage. This hardy native is drought tolerant once established and copes well with frost, humidity and coastal environments.
