APE - Triumph - Manual Cam Chain Tensioner - TT675 / TT675-09

TT675 & TT675-09 APE manual cam chain tensioners are designed to replace the automatic and hydraulic tensioners on high performance engines. The automatic adjusters can back out when the throttle is closed suddenly at high rpm. This allows the cams to go momentarily out of time, and can result in bent valves and/or serious engine damage. Hydraulic tensioners have a tendency to put too much tension on the chain guide under high rpm/high oil pressure conditions, resulting in premature wear. Both problems can be eliminated with the installation of the APE manual tensioner. No mater what the engine does, the cam chain tension will remain constant. An APE manual cam chain tensioner is a must for any kind of performance riding. APE manual tensioners are CNC machined from billet alloy to exact tolerances for perfect fit. *NOTE: Due to variations in OEM components, APE has had to shorten the length of the provided allen head tensioner mounting bolts for #TT675. Bolts originally shipped had more than 12mm of thread and bottomed out on some motors. The new, correct bolts have 12mm of thread. Depending on how long ago your TT675 was purchased from APE, it may be packaged with the longer bolts. Please measure the threads on the allen bolts. If there is more than 12mm of thread (14mm or higher) please contact APE and we'll send you the new mounting bolts ASAP. Triumph has made two styles of OEM tensioner that cover all of the models listed above. APE offers a manual tensioner modeled after each of them.
