Mondillo Pinot Noir 2025
Joelle Thomson – June 2026 – Bendigo’s best foot forward Bendigo may be situated 80 kilometres from Queenstown but its latest 2025 Pinot Noir reflects all the majestic beauty of the deep south. The new 2025 vintage shows the estate’s silkiest side with this wine's velvety smooth mouthfeel layered over purity of dark fruit in a wine with a savoury mid palate. Its vibrancy reveals an accessible and approachable wine to enjoy now, in its youth, and its firm structure bodes well for favourable evolution over the long haul. The 2025 season was cool and unsettled at first followed by a warm, dry summer, which brings a clarity of fruit flavour and beautiful earthy vinosity; the savoury deliciousness that defines great Pinot Noir. Enjoy! It’s concentrated and flows smoothly in the mouth, with plush texture and finely infused tannins, leading to a persistent, satisfying finish." 4.5 Stars, Michael Cooper MA ONZM "The fragrant, graceful 2025 vintage was estate-grown at Bendigo, hand harvested and matured for 11 months in French oak barriques. Bright ruby, it is a youthful, savoury red, with strong, fresh cherry, plum and spice flavours, showing very good ripeness and complexity, silky tannins and a harmonious, finely textured finish."
