One hammer, two faces. This 17 lb professional grade dead blow sledge runs a non-marring, non-sparking polyurethane face on one side and a 4340 steel face on the other, so the same tool covers the parts you can’t mark and the steel that needs to move. The shot filled head drives all 17 lb into the strike and stays planted, with none of the bounce you get off a solid sledge and far less shock coming back through your wrists and elbows. The steel side runs an interchangeable face system. Choose the face that ships on yours, 4340 soft steel, 4340 hardened steel, or C360 brass, then swap faces as the work changes instead of reaching for a second hammer. Built for fabrication, millwright, automotive, and heavy industrial jobs. Under the faces it’s the same build as our 12 lb sledge: a solid steel, fully welded frame with the industrial polyurethane casing bonded straight to it so it won’t twist or peel, a spring steel handle with a vibration absorbing connection, and a textured, square tapered grip.
