Marginalities: Gendered Intersections

This edited monograph encompasses paper presentations by young social science and humanities scholars on the broad theme of marginality. Beginning with an introduction to the question of intersectionality and women’s studies, each paper in this volume employs a gender lens to highlight context-specific experience/s of individuals, people, or social groups inhabiting, belonging, or relegated to marginal social locations or spaces on account of multiple intersecting factors such as gender, ethnicity, caste, class, sexual identity, location, etc. Seema Kazi is Associate Professor, Centre for Women’s Development Studies (CWDS). Her areas of research are gender, conflict studies; gender and governance; women and politics; and cultural studies. She has a Masters in Women and Development and a PhD in Gender Studies.
