But it ships with a pressurised basket, which builds artificial back-pressure that masks inconsistencies in grind and technique. The result is that many Dedica owners never discover what their machine can really do. Moving to a single-wall basket and a bottomless portafilter removes that artificial restriction and exposes the raw extraction - so your grind quality and puck prep start to count, which is exactly what lets you dial in and improve.
