PATEK PHILIPPE Chronograph Ref. 130 Short Signature 18ct Yellow Gold (1955)
I'm delighted to offer for sale a short signature Patek Philippe Chronograph Reference 130 in 18 carat yellow gold, with archive extract confirming date of manufacture 1953, and initial sale of May 2nd 1955 I hazard a guess (unlike the majority of Patek from the era) that the hard enamel dial has not been cleaned during its lifetime, the crystal also I presume to be original given the charming crazing it displays I have fitted the watch to a 9 carat English made bracelet which I think works nicely I do not know the service history, but the watch is currently running strong This particular example has been off market for around 3 decades, having resided in one of the most important private collections in the world during this time A rare opportunity to acquire a thoroughly original and largely untouched example of a watch the world is finally waking up to - these have been under appreciated for much too long, but the tide is finally changing, and justifiably so - these are amongst the most beautiful watches ever to have been conceived by any marque
