Diseases and Pests of the Honey Bee This is a course offered by the BCHPA’s Technology Transfer Program that aims to provide sufficient skills to master the biology of key threats to honey bees – Varroa destructor, American foulbrood, and European foulbrood – with confidence! This course gives beekeepers the tools to recognize symptoms, understand pathogen life cycles, and apply effective management and treatment strategies. Grounded in sicience and taught by experienced apiarists, you’ll gain the confidence to protect and support healthier, more resilient colonies. An accompaniment of this course is a pocket-book that can be used in the field to identify these diseases and what to do. Keep it in your suit for when you want to make sure you’re doing things right!
