The structure is made of rigid, overlapping slats or sticks made from translucent horn, held together at the base by a rivet and connected across the top by a threaded silk satin ribbon. Fabricated from horn, the design is pierced by a tiny jewellers saw, identical on each stick, but every other stick is reversed to create a lovely repeating arabesque pattern. Additional painted gouache floral detail . Dimensions: Height: 16cm. Width: At widest 16cm. Condition. Very good vintage condition. The delicacy of the object, with so much open work, has remarkably survived intact with no damage. Condition reflected in images.
