Cask & Coast - Single Barrel Cognac Cask-Finish Bourbon Whiskey

Cask & Coast is a San Diego-based blender of small-batch California bourbon, founded by Mark Kersey and Richard Montano. This single barrel expression starts from their proprietary four-grain bourbon blend of corn, rye, wheat and malted barley, matured in new American oak in the Midwest before being blended in California and finished in Cognac casks made of French oak. The Cognac cask finishing is intended to add richness of flavor and depth of color beyond their standard Cabernet-finished release. Expect the house profile of vanilla, almond, cocoa and candied pecans layered with the fruit and spice character the Cognac casks contribute.
