Melba's broom (Pytilia melba)

This little African bird has a grey head, with a bright red forehead, throat, and beak. Its chest fades from orange to yellow, its back is olive green, and its belly is finely striped in black and white. Its tail is red. It is perched on a piece of mossy bark, beneath a glass globe resting on a black base.
