Fiorella Anelli Stradivari 'Il Cremonese 1715' Violin - Cremona 2026
Introducing a beautiful new violin by Fiorella Anelli, made in her Cremona workshop in 2026 — glowing golden-orange varnish, a richly flamed back, and the powerful, rich voice her instruments are known for. The model Made in Antonio Stradivari's Golden Period, the 1715 violin once known as the "Joachim" was acquired by the City of Cremona in 1961 and renamed "Il Cremonese". Regarded as one of Stradivari's most perfect instruments, it is now the treasure of the city's Museo del Violino — a short walk from Fiorella's own workshop. The maker Born in Milan in 1981, Fiorella studied piano for many years before turning to violin making at the Civica Scuola di Liuteria di Milano. She graduated in 2004 under Paola Vecchio, a pupil of Luca Primon, and trained in restoration under G. Negri. Moving to Cremona, she worked in the workshops of Michele Dobner and Matteo Heyligers, deepening her knowledge of construction, set-up and sound adjustment. In 2008 she completed Cremona's advanced course in baroque violin making — building a baroque violin, its bow and a viola da gamba — a grounding in the instrument's history that shapes all her work. Fiorella works from a Renaissance palazzo on via Beltrami, near Cremona's Cathedral, using Val di Fiemme spruce, Balkan maple and an oil-based varnish drawn from historic recipes. Her violins are known for their power, brightness and richness of tone.
