The Old Hickory model was made using Hickory wood from the estate of Andrew Jackson at The Hermitage, making this a particularly interesting piece of Gibson history. We purchased this guitar from the original owner, who even kept the original shipping box from 1999! The guitar appears to be pretty much unplayed and remains in beautiful condition overall. There is one small area of repair underneath the poker chip, but it is virtually impossible to see with the poker chip in place. Otherwise, this is an exceptionally clean example of a very unusual limited-edition Gibson. It features Hickory wood throughout and the distinctive Gibson Custom Art & Historic embossed pickup covers. It's not every day you come across a Les Paul Custom with this kind of historical connection. The guitar measures 0.83" at the first fret and 0.98" at the 12th fret and weighs 10 lbs. 2 oz.
