Haynau's Retreat - Kernel Collab

Pronounced 'High-now's,' this is our modern take on a 1930 London black lager. The original was brewed near where The Kernel is today, using a slightly odd process: boiling down the sweetest mash runnings into a rich syrup which was added back before fermentation. It was a joy having Ben, Evin and Jonah in Leith. The Kernel team have been instrumental in the Newbarns story as colleagues, mentors and very good friends. As well as designing Newbarns' entire visual identity, Jonah taught Emma to brew!
