Navagraha Shanti Homam — South Indian Tradition

Offered on your behalf by a South Indian pandit, the Navagraha Shanti Homam is a fire ritual to the nine grahas, or planets. The sankalp, spoken in your family's tradition, names up to four people with the gotra. Within 3 to 4 days, photos or video of the homam reach you on WhatsApp.What is Navagraha Shanti Homam? In the Navagraha Shanti Homam, each of the nine grahas, or planets, is invoked with its own mantra and offerings into the fire. Shanti means peace, and this homam is a prayer for peace with the grahas. Families turn to it as a traditional remedy when a horoscope shows a difficult planetary period. It is also offered at the start of a new year of life, on a birthday. You do not need to buy a horoscope; a South Indian pandit of your family's tradition performs the homam in your name. Why devotees book it A prayer for graha shanti, peace with the planets, in a difficult dasha (planetary period) or transit A traditional remedy before a marriage or the start of a new venture A prayer for peace in the family when the household is going through a hard phase A birthday prayer, offered on the birth star at the start of a new year of life A prayer for the removal of obstacles that seem to stand in the way of a new step When to bookA birthday by birth star is a favoured day, as the homam is also offered at the start of a new year of life.
