Why does litter level matter so much?The Litter-Robot sifts by rotating the globe and letting clean litter fall through a screen. If the bed is too shallow, clumps break up and fines pass through into the waste drawer instead of being captured. Keeping the level right is the single biggest thing you can do for clean cycling. What litter should I use?Clumping clay litter. Crystal, pellet, paper and most natural litters do not clump firmly enough to sift reliably, and can bridge inside the hopper. Does it need power?The LitterHopper draws power from the Litter-Robot 5 itself. There is no second plug and no batteries.
