A Beginner Knitting Class for Adults Saturday, January 9 | 10:00am–12:00pm Ages 18+ | Beginner Friendly Taught by Jennifer Samuelson & Melissa Mott Learn to knit the way children do in a Waldorf first-grade classroom! Designed specifically for adults, this class is perfect for complete beginners as well as parents, homeschoolers, and teachers who would like to learn how to introduce knitting to children. Using the gentle, story-rich methods of Waldorf education, Jennifer and Melissa will guide students through the foundational steps of knitting. You'll also learn why knitting is traditionally introduced in the early grades and how handwork supports a child's development. Each student will begin knitting a simple square that can be transformed into either a sweet little cat with yarn whiskers or a bunny with floppy ears and a fluffy tail. You'll choose which animal you'd like to make! You may not finish your project during class, but you'll leave with the skills, supplies, and instructions to complete it at home. ────────────── Details Date: Saturday, January 9, 2027 Time: 10:00am–12:00pm Cost: $55 per student Instructors: Jennifer Samuelson & Melissa Mott Ages: 12+ | Children under 16 must register with an adult - this class is geared towards adutls Skill Level: Beginner — no experience necessary Location: Handcraft Revival — Sugar House What You'll Learn The basic knit stitch and how to cast on Waldorf-inspired stories and methods for teaching knitting Why knitting is introduced in the early grades How to turn a knitted square into a cat or bunny Supplies All supplies are included, including one 1oz ball of wool yarn, bamboo knitting needles, and project instructions.
