FRANKFURTER BLOCK

Designed from the ground up to be modular, the FRANKFURTER BLOCK completes the overall FRANKFURTER BRETT system. Within easy reach are now the most important blades, and the front-mounted knife sharpener with its subtle leather loop achieves what no other sharpener does so effortlessly: Intuitively designed and seamlessly integrated into the kitchen workspace, sharpening knives becomes a natural and, above all, satisfying part of cooking. The proven two-stage water sharpening system is not only strikingly simple and reliable to use, but the two ceramic sharpening wheels with matched grits first sharpen the blade coarsely and then finely. The defined sharpening angle creates a sustainably sharpenable blade geometry that preserves the blade’s material and ensures a long lifespan for the knives. Flexibly positionable within the Console, the °4 interface closes an important gap: tools, ingredients, and workflow structure are now arranged within a self-contained system in a meaningful and efficient relationship to each other. This keeps the kitchen workspace constantly in a functional ideal state that doesn’t need to be set up in detail but is simply ready to be used. And even while cooking, the thoughtful arrangement requires almost no additional organizational effort, even with changing tasks. What was once a carelessly unsorted drawer of half-sharp blade compromises becomes a gleaming, meticulously maintained array of surgically sharp kitchen tools within ergonomically optimized reach—always ready and just waiting to be put to use. The monolithic, matte black magnetic block with its excitingly reduced lines and finely balanced material contrasts does the rest to leave a lasting impression.
