How Daltons Houseplant Tabs Work: Water penetrates the coating around the tab, dissolving the nutrients inside. These nutrients then pass through the coating to the plant roots, releasing at a regular, controlled rate over 6 months. Insert the tab 2-3cm below the surface of the mix and close up. If more than one tab is required, distribute them evenly around the pot.
