2017 Crews Maniac Sound KTR TL-01 – White Blonde – Made in Japan

This 2017 Crews Maniac Sound KTR TL-01 is a superb Japanese-built Tele-style guitar with boutique-level craftsmanship, fantastic playability and a seriously impressive tone. Part of the “Key To The Rock” series, this model was produced through a collaboration between Crews Maniac Sound and Japanese retailer Musicland Key. Built at the highly respected Terada factory, it takes inspiration from classic early ’60s Telecaster designs while adding premium materials, refined construction and a slightly more modern playing feel. The guitar features a lightweight two-piece swamp ash body finished in White Blonde with Crews’ semi-gloss “Cloudy Lacquer” nitro finish. The finish has a lovely soft vintage look and will continue to develop character as the guitar is played. The neck is a beautifully made quartersawn maple piece with a Madagascar rosewood slab fretboard, 25.5” scale length, 8.25” radius and a comfortable vintage C profile. It feels smooth, familiar and very easy to settle into. Tonally, this guitar is lively, clear and responsive. The original KTR single coil pickups have a little extra output compared with a traditional vintage Tele-style set, giving the guitar plenty of punch, warmth and sparkle. It sounds great clean, but really comes alive with a little overdrive, offering rich midrange, strong attack and excellent dynamic response. Condition is excellent overall, with only minor cosmetic wear from normal use. The neck is straight, the action is low, intonation is good, the truss rod works correctly and all electronics have been tested and are functioning properly. Frets show some light wear but play evenly with no major buzzing issues. Comes with the original Crews gig bag.
