Paphiopedilum Quintal Wonder
Paphiopedilum Quintal Wonder is a multifloral primary hybrid of Paph. dianthum × Paph. haynaldianum, and a parent of the newer QF Elizabeth. Tall stems carry several flowers at once, each about 3 to 4 inches across, with long, gently twisting petals in green, olive and purple tones, spotted toward the base, around a glossy pouch. Dianthum grows on limestone cliffs in southern China and northern Vietnam, while haynaldianum comes from the Philippines, giving a vigorous, intermediate-to-warm plant. Give bright, indirect light, 60–88°F, a free-draining bark mix kept evenly moist, and a little calcium for the dianthum side.
