Blanc de Noirs 2021

The Blanc de Noirs 2021 brings together several expressions of Pinot Noir from Bouzy. The cuvée is built around three parcels: Vaudayants, planted in 1975, Hannepés in 1997 and Huriauts in 2006. Three sites and three generations of vines, blended to offer a village-scale interpretation of the grape variety. In 2021, a fourth parcel was exceptionally included in the blend: Hauts Clos, an old vineyard planted in 1960. That year, yields were so low that Georges decided not to vinify it separately as a single-parcel wine, instead incorporating it into the Blanc de Noirs. Here, the 2021 vintage gives a Pinot Noir that is dense yet remarkably agile. The wine shows substance from the first sip, then gradually stretches out across the palate. During our tasting in Bouzy, we particularly loved this ability to combine depth with movement, leading to a long, saline finish marked by fine bitters. A Blanc de Noirs that fully expresses Pinot Noir without seeking power. Style A superb Blanc de Noirs that captures all the depth of Bouzy Pinot Noir without ever losing its momentum. The palate is dense, vinous, almost velvety, with ripe fruit revealing notes of red berries and spice. Then the wine stretches out: tension takes over, accompanied by the salinity and fine bitters that we found throughout the range. Long, vibrant and profoundly gastronomic, this is a Pinot Noir with real character, but above all remarkable balance.
