Valais Giants of Crans-Montana

A herd of powerful Hérens cattle moves across the high Alpine pastures of Cry d’Er above Crans-Montana, with the monumental peaks of the Valais Alps rising across the horizon. The panorama brings together five remarkable summits: Weisshorn at 4,505 m, Zinalrothorn at 4,221 m, Ober Gabelhorn at 4,063 m, the Matterhorn at 4,478 m and Dent Blanche at 4,357 m. Rendered in black and white, the composition contrasts the dark, sculptural presence of the Hérens cattle with the vast scale of the mountains behind them. Dust rising from the herd catches the light and creates a natural transition between the animals and the distant peaks, adding movement, atmosphere and a strong sense of depth.
