Large Yokut Bowl with Figures

This is a large, well woven basket with with two bands of design. Just below the rim is a band with 4 female figures separated by rattlesnake skin pattern blocks. The lower half has a stepped geometric band. The weaver used redbud in both bands of design. The basket is good looking and is in very good condition with only four missing strands on the rim. This is an impressive basket because of the size and the restraint in the design. H. 7 ¼"; D. 15 ½" c.1920-1950 #9087
