Colectivo Nascentes

Nascentes was created by a group of women coffee growers in Campo das Vertentes, Brazil, who came together to build greater visibility for their work and create new opportunities through coffee. The name translates loosely to "headwaters" or "where something begins", a reference to both the natural springs that shape the region and the women helping shape its future. The project began through conversations with women across different producer associations, identifying the barriers they faced and creating a platform that reflected their own goals and ambitions. Today, participating growers take part in workshops, quality programs, and lot evaluation, with full traceability maintained throughout the supply chain. Selected coffees receive recognition for the women behind them and are rewarded with above-market prices. This lot is naturally processed, with ripe cherry dried first on patios before finishing in controlled mechanical dryers. The approach helps create consistency while preserving the character of the coffee. In the cup, expect jackfruit, apricot followed with a smooth finish. A coffee built on collaboration, recognition, and the idea that quality and opportunity should move together.
