Course Summary Indoor DAS (iDAS) is used to improve radio coverage, capacity and service quality in buildings and enclosed environments where macro coverage is insufficient or unreliable. This two-day course gives participants a practical understanding of how iDAS solutions are designed, assessed, optimised and modernised. It is relevant to commercial mobile, neutral host, enterprise/private 4G/5G, rail and critical communications environments. The course deliberately includes rail, transport and critical communications applications, including stations, depots, tunnels, TETRA/PMR environments, emergency services coverage, public mobile services, GSM-R/FRMCS migration context and future mission-critical broadband considerations. The emphasis is on practical awareness rather than detailed engineering design. Who the Course Is For This course is designed for professionals who need a clear understanding of indoor and enclosed-area RF coverage systems without necessarily needing to undertake detailed DAS engineering design. Telecom operator radio planning, optimisation, assurance and indoor coverage teams System integrators, vendors, RF designers, deployment teams and technical pre-sales specialists Enterprise, venue, campus, healthcare, transport and critical infrastructure teams Rail, metro, airport, public safety, utilities and operational communications stakeholders Regulators, consultants and technical advisors involved in in-building coverage obligations or investment decisions Learning Objectives By the end of this course, participants will be able to: Understand the purpose, architecture and main components of an Indoor DAS Recognise key iDAS design choices and the RF factors that influence them Understand how existing deployments are evaluated, measured and optimised Identify the main drivers and options for DAS upgrade and modernisation Engage more effectively with vendors, integrators and operational stakeholders Learning Outcomes Participants completing this course will be able to: Explain how iDAS supports coverage, capacity and service continuity in complex indoor and transport environments Read high-level DAS schematics and discuss principal design trade-offs Identify common performance issues and the measurements used to investigate them Contribute to optimisation and upgrade discussions using appropriate terminology Support informed technical and commercial decisions for planned or existing DAS deployments
