KANNA GLASS Gift Box - Pair (This contains two glasses) Designed by Hiroshi Yamazaki, a product designer who develops his own original brand, YAMASAKI DESIGN WORKS. The design began with a request from the president of Kimura Glass: to create a glass “like a stone.” In response, Yamazaki proposed a form that is intentionally irregular and seemingly random. The original form was carved from a solid conical shape using a traditional woodworking tool called a kanna, a Japanese hand plane. Rather than designing the glass around a specific purpose, the concept encourages the user to discover and decide how it should be used—much like picking up a stone and finding its own purpose. The stated capacity indicates the recommended serving volume.
