ALUMINIUM 5056 SEALED RIVETS

Aluminium 5056 sealed rivets (also known as closed-end rivets) are high-strength blind fasteners specifically engineered to provide watertight and airtight seals. They feature an AlMg5 (AA5056) aluminium alloy body paired with a steel mandrel. Unlike standard open-end rivets, the cup-shaped end completely encloses the mandrel head, preventing fluid leakage through the rivet bore. This makes them ideal for marine environments, water tanks, roofing, guttering, and automotive fabrication. Installation Tips Full waterproofing: Use a silicone sealant or neoprene sealing washer under the head for true pressure-tight assemblies. Galvanic corrosion: The internal steel mandrel fragment can rust in severe coastal environments; swap to all-stainless rivets if fully submerged in saltwater. Hole clearance: Always drill your installation hole roughly 0.1mm to 0.2mm larger than the rivet body diameter to guarantee a clean fit Here is how these three sizes break down in industrial hardware: 4.4 Size • Standard Measurement: 4.4 is 3.2mm in diameter has a grip range of 4.8mm - 6.4mm. • Drill Bit Needed: To install a 4.4 rivet, you typically use a size 3.3mm drill bit. This leaves the necessary 0.1mm clearance so the rivet body slides into the hole smoothly before it is popped. 6.4 Size • Standard Measurement: 6.4 is 4.8mm in diameter has a grip range of 4.8mm - 6.4mm. • Drill Bit Needed: To install a 6.4 rivet, you typically use a size 11 (4.9mm) drill bit. This leaves the necessary 0.1mm clearance so the rivet body slides into the hole smoothly before it is popped. 6.6 Size • Standard Measurement: 6.6 is 4.8mm in diameter and has a grip range of 8.0mm - 9.5mm. • Drill Bit Needed: This size requires a size 11 (4.9mm) drill bit.
