Pair of Carl Philipp Schwab 19th Century Gentleman and a Lady Biedermeier Couple Portrait Oil Paintings in Gilded Frames

Carl Philipp Schwab (German, 1803-1869) 19th century oil portrait paintings on canvas of a husband and wife. The young woman with dark hair swept into a fashionable updo. Dressed in a simple black gown, she wears an elaborate white lace collar fastened with a gold brooch and delicate dangling earrings. Small turquoise jewels adorn the buttons on his shirt. Artwork in thick, gilded wood frames measure 26.75" x 23". Signed and dated 1859. Good antique condition with scattered light age appropriate wear including craquelure. Frames also in good condition with scattered age appropriate wear.
