WILLIAM SPENCE And His Wife MARY (RAE) SPENCE from Scotland. Settled in St. Croix, Hants, Co., NS in 1811 William Spence and wife Mary (Rae) Spence came from Scotland to Nova Scotia, they lived at Lakelands, Hants County, Nova Scotia, before purchasing the farm property from John Lawrence. – recorded in the Registry of Deeds, Windsor, N.S., dated November 19, 1811, in Book 9, page 182 – document 153. This Farm is marked on Churches Map of 1871. William died in 1852, his son Andrew was appointed Administrator, Registered in Book 35 page 133, Document 102.
