Snefnug

A delightfully soft and easy to knit blown yarn that is light as air but fabulously warm. CaMaRose produces high quality, natural yarns with the highest ethical and sustainable credentials. Snefnug is a delicate blend of 55% baby alpaca, 10% extra fine merino wool and 35% organic cotton. It is produced by an Italian family-owned spinning mill. The merino wool used is mulesing free. The baby alpaca is from Peru, and the cotton is from Egypt. Snefnug is composed by a cotton tube, as the core, into which a fine and neat blend of merino wool and baby alpaca is blown. Altogether, this gives a strong and at the same time, super soft and luxury yarn. It's particularly suitable for baby and children’s knitwear, as well as for the current trend of oversize knitwear on big needles for adults, as sweaters, cardigans, scarfs, and hats. Great fun to knit, it works up quickly and feels wonderful to wear. Teri knitted a jumper in it as is completely delighted with the result. The recommended needle size is 4.0 - 6.0 mm and the recommended gauge is 12-16 sts per 10 cm and approx. 24 rows in height. The length is 110 meters per one skein of 50 grams. It is recommended to HAND WASH the finished work, using a wool detergent, and lay it flat to dry. When washing, the finished work can shrink up to 7%, but will stretch again in use.
