Crazy Charlie

The Crazy Charlie is one of the most trusted bonefish flies there is. It was developed on Andros Island in the Bahamas in 1977 by flats guide Charlie Smith and popularized by San Francisco angler Bob Nauheim. It imitates glass minnows as well as the small shrimp that cruising fish eat on the flats. The Shallow version from Fulling Mill is lighter, so it lands softly and rides just off the bottom in skinny water, where a heavier fly would spook tailing fish or snag. It is tied on Fulling Mill's premium saltwater hooks and made for bonefish and other flats species, from ankle-deep mud to sand and turtle grass.
