Knot-free aspen interior Aspen never gets uncomfortably hot to the touch, it does not bleed resin, and it does not darken from the heat in the same way as pine. Knot-free timber means there are no knots that can become burning hot or release resin where you sit and lean. Shou Sugi Ban exterior Shou Sugi Ban, called yakisugi in Japan, is a Japanese method around 400 years old where the wood surface is charred instead of painted. The fire carbonizes the outermost layer, leaving a layer of pure carbon, matte black with distinct grain. Rot cannot gain a foothold. Carbon is no longer a food source for fungi or mold. Insects stay away. The charred surface is neither food nor nesting material. Weather and UV resistant. The surface repels water and does not fade like painted wood. More fire-resistant. The wood has already been controlled-burned and is harder to ignite. Lasts for decades. In Japan, yakisugi facades stand for 40 to 80 years without being repainted. No chemicals. It is wood and fire. No paint that peels. Ages beautifully. The surface goes from deep black to silver-gray and gains more character over the years. Maintenance: hose it down with water once a year. If you want to maintain the deep black tone, the surface can be oiled, but it is not a requirement. We use Japanese cedar, sugi, the same wood species the method was developed for. The sauna comes in one piece and needs to be lifted on site Because the sauna is factory-assembled, it cannot be carried in by hand. It is lifted from the truck to its location with a crane truck. You can either book the crane truck yourself or add Crane truck lift, SEK 8,000 excluding VAT, and we will take care of it. The crane truck lift includes unloading and placement on a completed foundation, for a sauna weighing up to 650 kg and a maximum lifting distance of 10 meters. You are responsible for a clear lifting path, sufficient accessibility for the crane truck, and a stable surface. Both Private Escape at approximately 400 kg and Grand Escape at approximately 500 kg fall within the weight limit. After placement, we recommend that a certified electrician performs the final connection to the house's power supply, single-phase or three-phase.
