French Art Deco Amboyna Burl Sideboard or Bar Cabinet with Marble Top, Circa 1930

This exceptional French Art Deco sideboard buffet or bar cabinet was produced circa 1930. Impeccably crafted, the cabinet features carefully matched, richly figured amboyna burl veneer over hardwood. The cabinet has compact, elegant proportions and a sculptural form with clean geometric lines paired with rounded edges and gentle curves. The symmetrical façade features two upper central drawers over a beveled glass-front display vitrine, flanked by large doors opening to enclosed storage compartments. The vitrine interior has a mirrored back and one glass display shelf. A substantial Portor marble top provides a striking contrast to the warm amboyna burl, with gold, cream and white veining across its deep black ground. The distinctive nickel-plated brass hardware includes circular drawer pulls and oversized fan-shaped door handles. The cabinet rests on curved wooden supports that sweep gently forward and are accented with thin metal strips. All cabinet doors are locking with original keys and the drawers are dovetailed. The combination of display and concealed storage makes the cabinet well-suited for use as a sideboard, buffet or bar cabinet. CONDITION Excellent vintage condition with minor wear consistent with age and use. The marble top rests freely on the cabinet and can be removed for transport. Two original working keys included.
