Landmark Las Vegas T-Shirt

The Landmark was one of those Las Vegas buildings you could recognize instantly, even from miles away.Opened in 1969 at Paradise Road and Convention Center Drive, the 31-story tower stood apart from the Strip with its distinctive saucer-shaped top and panoramic views across the valley. Inside that upper dome were lounges, restaurants, dancing, and even a casino high above the city, giving the Landmark a character unlike anything else in Las Vegas at the time.Danny Thomas helped open the resort, and performers including Bobby Darin appeared there during its run. For locals, though, the Landmark was as much a piece of the skyline as it was a hotel-casino.It closed in 1990 and was imploded five years later, ending one of the more unusual chapters in old Las Vegas. Some buildings were just places to gamble. The Landmark was something you looked for on the horizon.
