Clear Laminated Silence (VSG)

Clear Laminated Silence (VSG)

Brand: Glass Squad

Sound-absorbing laminated glass consists of two panes glued together with two or more layers of sound-absorbing polyvinyl butyral (PVB) foil. The effect of increasing sound absorption can be achieved in several ways: the use of at least one glass pane with a high surface weight (e.g. glass 6 mm or thicker); the greater the total thickness of the glass, the better the sound insulation; the use of foil or several foils with high elasticity; different thickness of the glass. The effect of improving damping is obtained when both panes differ in thickness by at least 50% (e.g. 4 mm float glass + 6 mm float glass). In this way, attenuation improvement of 2-5 dB can be obtained. It is one of the cheapest methods of improving acoustic properties. By using glazing units laminated with special high-resilience foils, it is possible to achieve sound insulation Rw even above 50dB. Sound-absorbing laminated glass tests are carried out in accredited testing laboratories. Testing and assessment of direct airborne sound insulation is marked in accordance with EN 12758 "Glass in building - Glazing and airborne sound insulation. Edge Finishing Available Options
